Neighbourhood Information Meeting
Status: Completed
A Neighbourhood Information Meeting was held on July 23, 2026 to introduce the South Gate Business Park project, share information regarding the proposed development, and receive comments and feedback from residents and stakeholders.

Public Hearing – City of Greater Sudbury Planning Committee
Status: Upcoming
The proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment applications are scheduled to be considered during a public hearing before the City of Greater Sudbury Planning Committee on September 14, 2026.
Members of the public will have an opportunity to provide comments as part of the Planning Committee review process.
Planning Review & Approvals
Status: In Progress
Municipal planning applications and technical review are currently underway. Planning approvals are anticipated to be obtained in 2026, subject to municipal review and decision-making processes.
Site preparation activities are ongoing within designated areas of the property to support future development readiness.
Detailed Design & Subdivision Approvals
Status: Future Stage
Following planning approvals, the project is anticipated to advance into detailed engineering and infrastructure design.
Subdivision approvals, servicing design, transportation considerations, and supporting technical requirements will continue to be refined as the project progresses. Site preparation activities may continue as required to support future infrastructure and development planning.
Subdivision Infrastructure Construction
Status: Future Stage
Subject to approvals and design completion, subdivision infrastructure construction is anticipated to begin in 2028.
This phase is intended to establish the roads, services, and supporting infrastructure necessary to facilitate future development within South Gate Business Park and create development-ready employment and commercial lands.
Development of individual lots is expected to occur gradually over time as lands are purchased and advanced through site-specific planning, design, approval, and construction processes.
While subdivision infrastructure construction is anticipated to commence in 2028, the build-out of South Gate Business Park is expected to occur over a number of years and will be influenced by market demand, investment opportunities, and future development approvals.
Future Business & Employment Destination
South Gate Business Park is envisioned as a professionally planned employment and commercial development that supports investment, job creation, and economic growth in Greater Sudbury.
Over time, the development is intended to evolve into a gateway business destination that contributes to the City’s long-term economic development objectives.
